{THE DINA HUMANITARIAN FOUNDATION}

501(c)3

Dr. Phil A. Higginbottom and Terry Holladay-Higginbottom are the founders of The Dina Humanitarian Foundation.  Their mission is to better the lives of children and families in the remote, impoverished villages of Fiji.  Dina in the Fijian language means trust and integrity, and it is this human quality that is the cornerstone of their work and the value that drives them both.  They provide medicine, primary health education/care, basic household items and educational material, supplies and support for the natives.  Our purpose is to encourage health, facilitate childhood education, demonstrate trustworthiness, and provide items of real benefit to remote village life, says Terry. This project will only become stronger in the honor and spirit of this great man.

The Dina Humanitarian Foundation reaches remote villages in the outskirts of Fiji.  Dina provides essential bedding, clothing, medical aide and educational materials to those in the most need in these isolated villages.  They collect donations of these materials year round, package, ship, and distribute these items on their semiannual humanitarian retreats.

The Dina Humanitarian Foundation is currently building and supplying school materials for the Art & Robbie Learning Center.  This Learning Center is named in honor of the late Dr. Philip Higginbottom's parents: Art and Robbie Higginbottom.

March 2010 marked the unveiling of "Philly's Place" in the village of Vuaki and the restocking of the Dina Store in the village of Malakati.  The Women's Club within both these villages are responsible for the maintenance and restocking of these stores.  After the Cyclone hit these remote villages in February 2010,The Dina Humanitarian Foundation restocked and launched these stores in honor of what would have been Phil's 63rd birthday.
